New Zealand Trip

We took a two week trip to northern New Zealand.

We did some mountain biking. The trails went through this terrain. You can see the trail to the back and right. It was a blast.

We took sea kayaks to Rangitoto island. This is an image of Auckland, west of the island.

Hiking near the Watipu science reserve.

Hiking in Tongariro crossing. Peak was closed because it was an active volcano.

This is the ceiling at the New Zealand art museum. The roof is an artistic interpretation of a Maori ceiling.

You could look out and see Rotorua from the bike trails at some points. If you view the larger image, you can see geysers around some of the buildings.

This view was taken from SkyCity. It is a structure in downtown Auckland which is similar to the Seattle space needle? Anyways, you could bungie jump off this thing for a large fee. The safety wires can be seen in the large version of this image.
